Adium Ticket Task Force
The idea behind the Task Force is that no single developer has the time or resources to attempt to reproduce every reported issue. We (the Adium team) often find ourselves needing help in gathering more information about the issues at hand to give us a better idea of what might be wrong or even what the precise problem is. This can be a very time consuming process, so any help we can get is greatly appreciated. We also have a forum thread dedicated to this topic.
Procedure
- For Devs: If you come across an issue that needs to be reproduced, send me (edr1084) the ticket number and add “TicketTaskForce” to its Keywords field. I will then review the issue and take the appropriate action.
- For Task Force Members: If you are able to reproduce an issue please update the ticket and provide as much information about the issues as you possibly can. This might include things like OS Version, Adium Version, the protocol you were using, and most importantly a list of steps to reproduce the issue, as well as any other information that might be specifically requested by a Dev via the ticket's comments. (Please refer to ReportingBugs for more information on what to look for and what to include in your comments.) If you cannot reproduce an issue let me know. After several people have all tried and failed it will be closed; the original poster can reopen the ticket with additional information if the bug still exists and can be reproduced.
To-do List
When in doubt check out the Needs Feedback from Users Milestone.
Subscribing to the Mailing List
If you like to help out with the task force I'd reccomend you subscribe to the mailing list so that you can easily be contacted with new information and also so you can ask questions or provide information to the group.
