Status Icons
Status icons are small images displayed on the contact list and message tabs?. These icons convey the overall status of a contact.
Default Status Icons
The default status icons are:
Online
Idle
Away
Offline
Unknown
Typing
Text entered, but not yet sent
Sent message waiting for you
Mobile
What is “unknown” status?
Unknown status is used when Adium doesn't know the status of a contact. Depending on the IM service, strangers and invisible? users may display a status of unknown.
What is “text entered, but not yet sent” status?
This is used when a contact has entered some text into your message window, but has stopped typing, and hasn't sent you the message yet.
Order of icon preference
When multiple status icons apply to a contact, the icon is chosen in the following order:
- Typing
- Unviewed Content
- Entered Text
- Mobile
- Away
- Idle
- Online/Offline/Unknown
