When filing an issue with SVN, here are some tips:
- If the issue is a compile issue, it is recommended to wait a day or two. These issues are usually fixed within 24 hours, with or without tickets being filed.
- Don't file tickets about warnings. We see them too, guaranteed. Either we will fix it, or we can't fix it.
- Before filing, be sure to rebuild Adium. Here are some tips for doing this:
- Double broom it.
- Be sure to quit Xcode and restart it.
- For login issues, restart Adium while holding shift, then connect one account at a time. This will narrow down the account that is having the problem, enabling you to provide us with as much information as possible about that specific account.
- Try it with a different OS X user account.
- Try a fresh checkout of SVN.
- Include the following in your ticket:
- Mac OS X version
- Revision of your SVN checkout
- What steps you took to diagnose the issue
- What steps you took to attempt to fix the issue
- What version of Xcode you used (remember that you need at least version 2.3)
- What happened
- What was expected to have happened
- For SVN issues filed on Trac, we request that you include a valid way to contact you. Anonymous posting is allowed, but SVN issues are time sensitive.
- Check back at your ticket periodically, until it is fixed. If we request information on an SVN issue, those are heavily monitored.
