When remote contact closes message window, a message window opens to tell me so

Description

Since Robby can't reproduce this using 23836, at some point between 23836 and 23855 'left the conversation' notifications started causing closed windows to re-open.

Steps to Reproduce: Simply get one of your buddies to open a message window for your contact, then close it. Make sure you don't have a message window for them open on your side at the time.

Could this be the fault of [23840]?

I can't get the 'left the conversation' event to even show up, actually. Are there special conditions for it to be displayed?

I have actually encountered this in 23836 a few minutes ago in Gtalk. It's supposed to be in XMPP generally and also MSN, I learnt on IRC.

  • status changed from new to closed.
  • resolution set to fixed.

(In [23891]) Don't create spurious AIChat objects just to note that typing has stopped.

  • Fixes a memory inefficiency introduced by fixing the Psychic functionality
  • Fixed resurrection of chats after they close by virtue of their typing status being reset at close. Fixes #9996
