Description

Sorry for putting this in Trac - it probably belongs on the forums, but of course you can't register for the forums. I sent a manual "please register me" e-mail to The Tick a week or so ago as instructed, and never heard back.

Anyway: Trac sends a confirmation e-mail when you create a ticket, but it doesn't seem to send any followup e-mails. (I run my own mail server and can see that it's not getting spam-blocked or anything.)

I've seen Tracs that send no notifications, and I've seen Tracs that send them all, but I've never seen one that does this; I'm assuming it's a bug, but even if it's intentional, it's confusing - when I see the initial notification, I assume I'm going to get update e-mails as well, so I don't bookmark the ticket and check back.

I'll try adding myself to the CC field this time, but if that's the case, maybe add some helpful text to the new-ticket confirmation?

Hm, I get emails for all tickets I comment in.

I never received an email from you about your forum account, unless you sent it to my gmail which I never read.

I also get emails for every ticket I have commented in. Not sure this is feasible to fix as it may only apply to certain user accounts...

I noticed this for a while too, but recently, I've been getting emails. This might have been because I replied to my own ticket, but I've only opened one and can't be sure.

well you'll find out now... did you get another email because I just posted this very message you're reading right now?

You need to configure your email here: http://trac.adiumx.com/settings

Otherwise trac doens't know where to send email to. It's possible that with the users plugin, trac is looking for usernames instead of emails for the cc field.

I actually changed my email prefs to be something trac can't send email to, because I read tickets via rss now.

@jas8522: Yes, I'm getting e-mails on this ticket, but then I put myself in the CC field so that's not as surprising. I didn't get any notifications on #7845.

I've set my Trac settings now; could someone leave a comment on #7845 to see if that fixes it?

@tick: Yep, I clearly misread the wiki page and sent it to gmail. I'll resend. Thx.

Replying to Jay Levitt:

  • resolution set to worksforme.

Yeah I haven't had any issues with it either, but it always has been specific accounts with a problem. Then again we haven't had any reports of this in a long time, so I think we can assume it's been fixed.
