Description

Heyya! I use Mac OS 10.4.10... Since I upgraded to the Adium X 1.1.2 I have encountered a large selection of people in my list are blocked... And regardless of the fact that I do unblock them, when I quit Adium, or restart machine, the same people come back blocked. This is annoying. Help!?! Someone come and lay hands upon my machine and pray to the computer Gods to heal my Mac! Tell me, what small animals must I sacrifice?!?

I'm getting the same problem since I upgraded to 1.1.2 also running 10.4.10.

I'm seeing the same since upgrading a week ago. When I sign into Yahoo! Mac Messenger, though, or via the Windows desktop Yahoo! Messenger client, those same newly-blocked contacts are not listed as blocked.

I'm on a MacBook Pro running 10.4.10, too.

I am seeing the same since upgrading to 1.1.2 also running 10.4.10 on a MacBook Pro. The worst thing is that I unblock the user on my Yahoo buddy list, close Adium, re-open Adium, that same user is blocked again. About 30% of my Y! buddies are blocked. Please help.

Just to add, none of my buddies are blocked if I use the Mac Y! Messenger.

Can anyone reproduce using [1.1.3 beta]?

09/18/2007 12:58:54 AM changed by mlaaker

Tried 1.1.3 beta today with the same results as 1.1.2, meaning that a large number (75+) of my Yahoo! contacts were suddenly marked as blocked. No rhyme or reason seems to exist for which contacts are blocked; some I messaged earlier in the day, and some I haven't talked to in over a year. Quitting and reopening an earlier version of Adium doesn't help... I have to manually unblock each user (making this a time-intensive test as to whether beta fixes problem).

Side note: only the older 1.1.1 version remembers that I unblocked a user. In other words, if I unblock a user in 1.1.2 or 1.1.3b, quit, and reopen the same version of the app, the user now appears blocked. Same result if I unblock in 1.1.2/1.1.3b, quit, and then open in 1.1.1. Different result (i.e. intended result) if I unblock in 1.1.1, quit, and then reopen 1.1.1.

Definitely not resolved. I just upgraded to final 1.1.3 with the prefs from 1.1.1 that I spent the time unblocking the 100+ users it had previously marked blocked with 1.1.2.

Sure enough, 1.1.3 did the same thing. Similarly, those that I unblock become blocked again when I restart 1.1.3.

Gotta go back to 1.1.1 and unmark each and every blocked contact again. :(

Problem persist in 1.1.3 and 1.1.2. The worst part if that I rollback to 1.1.1 the problem persist. I unblocked a user, close Adium, reopen, the user is still blocked.

Any update to the progress on this? This is still a major problem and no word on a fix.

If we had word to bring you, we'd put it here.

I'm sure others have noticed this, but no one has posted it.

Privacy Settings are not being upheld. They are not being saved, and only certain ones are being used.

I don't block users, so if I set mine to Allow Everyone, nothing changes.

If I go through the list, select them all and delete them from the blocked list, it works until Yahoo disconnects (via quitting or network error). For now, I'm using that for a workaround. It's an extra step, and it won't stick, but at least it works for now.

Adium 1.1.3 on OS 10.4.10.

I'm getting the same problem when trying to upgrade to 1.1.4 (running 10.5).

Just tried in 1.2b5.... still the same problem.

Is there something I can do to help provide better feedback/description to get this resolved?

An update on my earlier post: I had to block a Yahoo user (loser), which was my first time to have to do that. When I did, all the users I had previous unblocked via the Privacy Settings returned to blocked.

Also, is this thread now considered a duplicate based on ticket 7744? If so, is there any point in posting here? Actually, this one has a lot better user feedback and considerably more relevant information than does the slightly earlier 7744.

Now Adium 1.1.4 on 10.4.11.
