If I am having a jabber chat, I don't see any font colors that are
specified by the other person. If I type an outgoing message in color,
I see the color (as do they); but in all messages sent to me the font
is always the default color.
I do have "show received message fonts" and "show received message
colors" selected in the preferences. This problem seems to occur no
matter what Message Style and/or Variant I choose.
After finding out about the problem while chatting with a friend, I
then tested it chatting with myself using Adium at one end and Gaim at
the other. Gaim would see colors (both outgoing and incoming). Adium
would see the colors used in its own outgoing messages, but incoming
messages were always displayed in the default color (dark gray).
I then tested chatting with Gaim at both ends, and all colors worked -
both sending and receiving.
I'm using Adium X 0.81 on Mac OS X 10.4. The versions of gaim used, if
it matters, were 1.30 on Fedora Core 3 (Linux) and 1.2.1 on OS X 10.4
(installed via fink).
