Block all users not on contact list

I'd like to second this request! Presumably it would work much like the equivalent feature in gaim, which is accessed via the Tools | Privacy menu item. Also: it's not just useful for parents of small children, although I can see where they'd like it. I use an AIM account and a Yahoo! Messenger account for work, and I'd love to be able to restrict access on those accounts so that only co-workers (people on my respective contact lists) can contact me.

I'd also like to have this feature. The same feature is in the regular AIM clients and in iChat, which when selected, lets only people on my buddy list see me and contact me. I have set this through iChat since it is a server side option, but it would be great to have it in Adium too.

Yes please add this in a version earlier than 0.90! Many many people are inundated with these automated AIM spam messages using different usernames every day.. Only way to stop incoming IM spam messages from these software abusers is to only allow users in your contact list to contact you.. It's the only way AIM is even usable. Please add it to the next version!

I third this. My log files are overflowing with freaking annoying porn bot ads!!!

Yes please, I'm getting so many spam messages on icq now. Blocking users not on contact list would be great - essential. It's already had me looking for other multi client messenger programs hoping for one with that security setting.

I'm very shocked. When I installed Adium, it looked like such a decent program. But, it's definitely not Trillium. In Trillium, you can choose to not allow any add requests or messages from anyone not on your contact list. One reason that having the standalone client is better.

This ticket should be reopened because it looks like ticket #19 is stale, nobody from development team has addressed the issue. The main issue is in ICQ only. SPAM with ICQ is soooo terrible because they can just guess numbers and such.

Stale? wtf? it's a 1.0 blocker that's already mostly implemented. You can't get less stale than that.
