can't change my nick

Description

i'm running adium 1.2.5 on OSX 10.5.5 (white macbook, 2,4Ghz) . it doesn't let me change my nickname even though it seems like it has changed, because the new nick always appears in the "personal" tab, on adium preferences. despite that, the nick that actually appears in my conversation windows is the one i've chosen last time i used some other client. i sometimes use mercury os amsn because of the video support. this same problem happens with a friend of mine running adium 1.3.2 on OSX 10.4.11 (15" powerbook G4 800Mhz). he has no other msn clients installed.
