Choosing "Hide Offline Group" should put the offline contacts back in their groups AND make them visible in those groups, since the only way you can toggle the setting to 'Show Offline Group' is if you're currently 'showing offline contacts'. Currently when I select "Hide Offline Group" the group disappears along with all my offline contacts, even though "Hide Offline Contacts" is still an option further up in the menu.
This problem only occurs on 1.4svn (I'm currently using [25143] . I cannot reproduce it with 1.3.1. I reproduced this on a fresh OS X user account with only one MSN account connected, as well as on my primary OS X account with an MSN, AIM, Yahoo, Gtalk, and a number of other accounts connected. 1.3.1 did not exhibit this problem on the fresh user account.
My steps to reproduce all this madness are:
- Set your view menu settings to Adium default. If they are currently messed up, then toggle showing and hiding groups (the workaround mentioned above).
- Choose "Show Offline Contacts" (this is needed to get to step 3)
- Choose "Show Offline Group"
- Choose "Hide Offline Group"
- Notice that the group certainly hides, but where'd all the offline contacts go? Since the option above is set to "Show Offline Contacts" they should now be appearing in their respective groups, albeit offline. They are not.
